The Journey Experience
An audio cassette by Billy Mayo (circa 1986).
Around 1986, Billy Mayo (USA) sent this tape to me (UK) free with two videos (in NTSC format, which I had to convert to PAL to play them) because I wrote to tell him of the impact his Journey Into Rock cassettes had on me, and how I had used them. He replied sending me his latest recordings free since I was using his material to minister. I was not expecting that.
The Journey Experience represents the evangelist and former rock musician and radio deejay's concerns, that church youth were in danger of being led astray by rock music.
The standard of this fast-paced production was high, including being in stereo, when mono was normal for such things...though there was nothing even remotely similar at the time!
I sent a copy of the cassette to Robin Valk at BRMB (a radio station in Birmingham, UK), who did not air it but found it interesting. Responding via letter, he said if I receive any more such productions, he would be happy for me to send them to him.
Having retained the cassette for nearly 40 years, it seemed right to preserve this historical production through digitisation. Here I have set it to driving footage and share it with you freely.
It is FREE, but due to the website platform, you need to virtually "purchase" it. The "Name a fair price" label is standard and provided by the system. The item cannot be sold, so please put £0 in the box.
